SoundCheck Music School Wins Battle of the Bands for the Second Year in a Row.
SoundCheck Music School is proud to celebrate another incredible achievement after our student band “Limitless” won 1st Place at the 2026 Battle of the Bands during the Salute to Recreation Family Festival in Northridge. Limitless–Lor (Vocals), Millind (Guitar), Elon (Bass), Eliana (Keys), and Emilio (Drums)
This marks the second year in a row that a SoundCheck Music School student band has taken home the top award at the festival competition. In 2025, our student band “The Silence” earned the championship title, and now in 2026, “Limitless” continued the tradition with another first-place finish.
The Battle of the Bands took place on Friday, May 15, as part of the annual Salute to Recreation Family Festival hosted by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. The festival brings together the local community for a full weekend of live entertainment, family activities, food vendors, carnival rides, and performances in Northridge.
After delivering an outstanding live performance during the competition, Limitless earned the 1st Place trophy and was invited back to perform a full live set the following day at the festival.
Winning back-to-back years with two different student bands is an incredible accomplishment and reflects the hard work, talent, and dedication of our students, instructors, and music programs. At SoundCheck Music School, we believe live performance opportunities help students grow not only as musicians, but also in confidence, creativity, teamwork, and stage presence.
We are extremely proud of both The Silence and Limitless for representing our school so well and for continuing to inspire younger musicians in our program.
